It's a very basic and simple toy, just a long plastic tube with a mouthpiece at one end. You drop your dart in at one end and blow out the other.
Power: One of the other reviewers is correct. You do need good lung power for this to work well since the speed and power of this dart depends on the amount and speed of air blown at it. For me, I can blow this clear across the room and is just as powerful if not more than any other dart gun.
I can imagine that native tribes who really do use blow darts as weapons have pretty good lung power with practice. For me, I was gassed after playing with it for 20 mins and my cheeks were sore! I wonder if someone took one of these down to the Amazon, if the natives there would shoot a dart further than me.
Accuracy: Fair, but I'm sure that it will improve with practice.
Fun factor: I thought it was a lot of fun. What's more basic than a blow gun? I'm sure your enemies will greet your blow gun with great laughter, until you shoot them in the head!
Cons:
1) Unless you're the big bad wolf and used to a lot of huffing and puffing, or a coach used to a lot of yelling, this is not gonna be a primary weapon for you. It requires too much work.
2) After using it for a while, I found that the inside of the gun was misted with condensation from my breath. This causes the darts to stick and you won't be able to use it again until it dries. Mine is still wet after 10 mins.
Pros:
1) Quick and easy to use. While your enemy is fumbling with reloads, you can just casually point your dart gun at him and hit quickly. No need to pump, ratchet, or lever your gun. It's quick, simple and silent.
2) No jamming (until the insides mist with condensation).
Summary: Primal and fun to use. I'd use this as a secondary weapon. The first time your enemy sees you with this, he'll howl with laughter, at which time you'll pump a dart into his face!
